Law of Attraction Misdemeanor

In my effort to remedy depression and crappy self esteem, I have done my fair share of reading about the Law of Attraction. One theme that seems to come up in all my readings about the LoA, is the notion that you get what you think about, most of the time. This idea has often taunted me since I’ve gotten things that haven’t ever occurred to me (like a lump in my boob), and I have failed to see things I have thought a lot about (like situationally appropriate shoes).  Acknowledging my confusion about this scares me because according to the guru’s, noticing that you don’t have something, or giving attention to the lack of something, is like a violation of the law, and you end up imprisoned by your own thoughts.

I recently heard Wayne Dyer say, “You don’t attract what you want, you attract what you are”. Considering this statement makes it much easier for me to wrap my mind around why I haven’t attracted all that many shoes lately.  I am not now, nor have I ever been, any type of footwear. If the best way to adhere to the law is to focus on attracting  what you are, I would like to focus on being a big ball of prosperity, success, world travel, and happiness. Wait. Scratch the “big ball” part. Rather, I would like to be a beautifully figured, aptly proportioned, entity of prosperity, success, world travel, and happiness … who has also been graced with an abundant supply of situationally appropriate footwear.

    • Thank you, Ben. I’ve really missed you as well. I think I should have put on there something about also being an entity of confidence and stellar multi-tasking and time management skills! Some things have recently changed in my schedule, so hopefully, I will be bitterly bugging you much more often now!

  1. You are already beautifully figured, very successful (especially in overcoming adversity), and certainly more traveled than I. We just have to work on the prosperity part – which will definitely come with the ideas you are working on! 🙂

  2. As a matter of fact, I have been super fortunate to encounter quite a few beautiful souls with buttloads of talent! YOU being one of them!

I had to read your comment a couple of times, because when I first ready it my braid saw “butt hole souls”? Hahaaa! Then, when I read it again, I laughed at myself for even seeing that, and realized it was one of the nicest things I’ve ever heard. Thank you, old friend. Thank you! 🙂

  3. I’m commenting for the said “good luck” because I’m not a real fan of shoes. Oh yeah, & I’ve read and heard from those-kind-of-people who propose what we are/have is all in our heads. I, too, am proof that they do not know what they are saying. The ‘have’s’ always have the answers.
